Baja California (Coastal Areas), Mexico

Baja California - Coastal Hot Spots

As one of the most scenic and most visited areas in the country of Mexico, Baja California has been inhabited by humans for at least 11,000 years. Native inhabitants enjoyed relative peace on this peninsula for many centuries, until approximately the year 1539, when the first European settlers arrived in this area. For many years henceforth, Europeans and Jesuits gradually spread out over this land. Baja California officially became a state in the year 1953, and is now one of the most popular tourist destinations in Mexico.

Today, the approximate population of this distinctly shaped landmass is close to 3 million people; yet these are generally quite spread out, giving the region a pleasant, uncrowded feel. Also, most of these people live in or around its capital of Mexicali, or in its largest city of Tijuana. The coastal areas are more sparsely populated, mostly by people going fishing, and tend to lean more toward natural beauty rather than highly developed and crowded cities. This is largely why so many people flock to the coast of Baja California; its natural scenery is legendary.

While there are many wonderful things to do in and around the entire state of Baja California, the coastal areas really do have some of the best attractions as far as tourists and travelers are concerned. One of the more popular things to do, near Cabo San Lucas, is the 4 x 4 Desert Safari. This is an excellent way to not only enjoy some exhilarating and entertaining rides around the hills in and surrounding Cabo, but also is a fun way to learn more about - and gain a greater appreciation for - the many amazing plant and animal species of this region of Baja California. You are led by very knowledgeable guides who will help educate you on the many intriguing things to see in this gorgeous region.

Parasailing is another very popular and absolutely thrilling thing that you can take part in while traveling around the coastal regions of Baja California. Some of the best parasailing is available near Cabo San Lucas, and one of the best places to enjoy parasailing is definitely Caborey Sky King Parasailing. This place will help you to enjoy and learn how to skillfully parasail. You will be able to soar high above the sparkling ocean and gain a viewpoint that you would otherwise never get to experience. It is a really memorable and spectacular way to round out any trip or vacation to Baja California, or to Cabo San Lucas in general. If you are fortunate enough to come down to this area of Mexico, make sure that you consider giving parasailing a try; you absolutely will not be disappointed!
